Colorado Midland Railway Pikes Peak Route Lithograph Poster ca. 1896
In frame dimensions: 29 ½” by 23 ½”
Original lithograph dimensions outside the frame: 19 ½” by 25 ½”
Glass has bubbles indicating its age is early. I don’t believe this is the original frame, however, it is also early.
An acid-free, neutral-pH mat-board was used to separate original lithograph from the glass. Acid-free tape and backer board was used on the back. L brackets were placed on the back of the frame to strengthen the frame as a whole.
Shipping: Since this lithograph is framed and the poster is not easily removed. I will ship it in a wooden crate. The crate will weight 40 lb and will have dimensions of 35” by 26.5” by 6”.
Condition (8/10) Good Overall: See pictures of the lithograph out of the frame for comparison. On the bottom right corner, there is some damage that is hidden by the mat board. The corner damage is not too extensive and was easily hidden by a small amount of mat board. There are two small cracks on near the bottom right and left. These may have been present originally because they were shaded with the same black paint that was used for the horse’s shadow. Also, there is a light shade line in the middle of the poster. This is clearer in the unframed photos. The shade is very light and hard to see.
