Albuquerque New Mexico A Mexican Wood Wagon Gold Wash Souvenir Spoon ca 1900
This is a nice souvenir spoon with a Native American spanning from the tip down to the bowl. The bowl has a common depiction of a donkey caring wood with the inscription “A Mexican Wood Wagon” above it. Below the donkey “ Albuquerque N.M” has been engraved and painted black.
The back of the spoon does not have a makers mark and does not say anything indicating its composition. It could be sterling but I’m not entirely sure. Whatever the metal is the bowl is gold washed as well as parts of the Native American.
Dimensions: length = 5-2/16”, Bowl = 1-15/16” by 1-2/16”
Ca. 1900
Condition (8/10) Good Overall. Shows some signs of wear. The gold wash on the back of the bowl has some discoloration. The Native American on the front has some patina. No major nicks or chips.
